This double rainbow (all the way across!) was the first thing I saw when I came out of the RV after our first night of camping in Þingvellir National Park.
Incidentally, the brightest rainbow ends (or begins?) precisely at the campsite toilets.
Drekkingarhylur (the drowning pool)
Women convicted of adultery were bound in sacks and drowned in this pool until the 18th century. This is not the only place in Iceland where women were historically drowned for a variety of dumb reasons.
